Ethel whines, Ethel gets angry, Ethel believes she is most important, Ethel has temper tantrums, Ethel has pity parties and most of all Ethel stresses me out. Ethel is everything but Spirit. She is everything I do not want to be. You may relate! Ethel is that voice inside which argues everything, tells you to be mad, seeks revenge. Suggests you worry, convinces you to be nervous, tells you’re not good enough. The voice that convinces you to be jealous, suggests things are not fair. It is the voice which attracts the negative.
Some may call Ethel your human side, I don’t believe it is that simple. I could agree that Ethel is part of your human existence, but not all. I say this because our human experience will include Ethel, yet not limit our experience to Ethel. Our human self will feel peace, will overcome anger, will accept the experience and overcome the anger, if it allows Spirit to respond.
Ethel is the human product of your journey and all the experiences up to present. I suppose you could say Ethel is the product of life lived. This will include trauma, habits, emotional barriers, ego, often thinking the worst and prepared for the worst. Ethel doesn’t like Spirit as Spirit frightens Ethel…. Most directly Ethel would not exist if Spirit lived. Ethel knows this. Spirit is product of pureness, of Love.
Now hold on though, Spirit is meant to experience Ethel. The human experience Spirit chose to have, the journey Spirit embraced. To have a human experience.
Spirit works hard in the background, however the more noisy, scary, busy, chaotic…. The more buried Spirit becomes. If we allow Spirit to emerge we heal, we alter our experiences… the energy we attract, hold on to and develop.
As Spirit needs Ethel and Ethel needs Spirit, it would not be beneficial to over come either, yet to live in harmony.
